February 12th-14th
It has been a great week in grade four! There was lots of learning and a wonderful celebration of friendship on Valentine's Day. This long weekend, I hope you get to spend time together as a family enjoying what you love.
Science
- I can identify plant and animal wastes, and describe how they are recycled in nature.
After learning about the different methods of disposal here in Calgary, students started to think about nature. They learned how waste in nature gets recycled and doesn't pile up. Then, students learned about how organisms form interconnected cycles. They wrote and drew their understanding in their visual journals. The students made great connections and asked wonderful connections throughout this learning.
Questions: What are the three types of organisms you learned about? (producer, consumer, decomposer)
What is an example of a producer? consumer? decomposer?
How is energy transferred from a producer to consumer to decomposer?
